In 1944, U.S. forces advancing into Europe urgently needed an assault tank capable of confronting powerful German armored units. With the M26 Pershing not yet in mass production, a special variant was developed: the M4A3E2, nicknamed "Jumbo". The U.S. Army specifically designated it an assault tank, a clear reflection of the high expectations placed upon it. Based on the M4A3, this vehicle underwent extreme modifications that significantly increased the armor thickness of both the hull and turret, granting it the capability to withstand direct fire from large-caliber German tank guns and anti-tank weapons. During the Battle of the Bulge, it was the M4A3E2 Jumbo that served as the vanguard, taking the lead to break through German encirclement and successfully link up with the defending 101st Airborne Division at Bastogne. This historic breakthrough cemented an immortal legend that helped turn the tide of the entire campaign.

This MENG 1/72 72-020 U.S. Assault Tank M4A3E2 Jumbo is about 86mm long, 38mm wide and 46mm high once assembled. Based on the experience from previous 1/72 scale products, this kit continues to embrace the concept of modular design, and it further improves the building experience. This kit includes a classic paint scheme and fine decals for “Cobra King”, the U.S. M4A3E2 “Jumbo” assault tank that broke through the German encirclement of Bastogne during the WWII Battle of the Bulge.
